Summary

The Thimphu Festival is one of the major and oldest Bhutan’s festival attracts the most viewers. Featuring dances done by trained monks and laymen in wonderful masks and dress, Celebrated yearly in the autumn season for a period of 3- 4 days, this event is a ceremony of colors with a happy amalgamation of the altering nature and the various moods of the Bhutanese culture.

The show up of Thimphu Tsechu or festival is the showcase of cultural folk dance in the well-known Tashichho Dzong in Thimphu.  Tsechus (festivals) are one of the most excellent ways to experience the ancient living culture of Bhutan.

Arrangement for the festivals starts weeks before the celebration itself. If you are in Bhutan but won’t be capable to catch the festival, do visit the Dzong, & you may be able to get the monks practicing and planning the material for the festival.
